Many adults get acne all over their faces, others only suffer from acne only around the chin, or the cheeks, and then there are those who only get forehead acne, which often looks like solid red bumps, called papules.

- Use dermatologist-approved products only, and when selecting over-the-counter cleansers and moisturizers, go for non-acnegenic, non-comedogenic products.
- Avoid alcohol-based skin products.
- Do not use a harsh towel to dry the face, rather use a soft and clean towel and only pat dry the skin.
- Avoid using oils or pomade products on your hair, and if you have to use them, wipe off your forehead afterward with a damp washcloth.
- Cut or use a hair tie to pull your bangs up and away from your skin, because bangs can cause acne breakouts on your forehead, especially if your hair is oily.
- Stop wearing headbands or hats with brims that touch your forehead.
- Try and keep your hands away from your skin, because every time you touch your face, you introduce bacteria that can get into your pores.
- If you have acne scars on the forehead, you might want to consider chemical or mechanical peels to reduce them. Chemical peels help strip away the dead skin and reveal the healthier skin underneath that is blemish-free.
- Try and avoid stress, which is also a leading cause of acne.
- Try some light exercise, meditation etc to reduce stress and acne breakouts.
- Diet is also an important factor to consider. Make sure you eat balanced meals and drink plenty of water. Foods like walnuts, green tea, fresh fruits and vegetables, and fatty fish are good for the skin and can prevent acne.
You may never want to pop a pimple on your forehead or anywhere else on your face or body, because, picking at acne introduces dirt from your fingers into your skin, which can lead to spread of an infection. Also, when you pop a pimple, it will take longer to heal, and popping can also leave a permanent scar.
